Vasavi College of Engineering is established in the year 1981 by the Vasavi Academy of Education under the stewardship of Late Sri Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah, a veteran statesman of independent India and by a few eminent people from different walks of life. Vasavi College of Engineering represents a rich tradition of excellence in technology-based education in a stimulating environment and is approved by AICTE & affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. Institute is accredited with A++ grade by NAAC in 2021. In its four decades of existence, it has now grown with excellent and well-developed infrastructural facilities, offering 7 undergraduate programs, viz., B.E. in Civil, CSE, EEE, ECE, Mech., IT & CSE (AI&ML) and four Postgraduate Programmes in CSE, MECH, EEE and ECE. The institution is conferred with autonomous status by UGC in the year 2014-15 for a period of six years & further extended for 10 years up to 2030-31. All the six eligible UG programs (Civil, CSE, EEE, ECE, Mech. Engg., & IT) are re-accredited under TIER-I with NBA up to June 2027. CSE, EEE, ECE, Mech. Engg. Departments have been identified as Research Centers by the Osmania University, Hyderabad. 22 faculty of the college have been identified as Ph.D. supervisors and around 115 Ph.D. scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. under their guidance.

The college has established a high-speed campus-wide network that connects all its departments consisting of 1768 systems. A fully distributed computing environment based on clusters of workstations and PCs provides the staff and students ready access to computing resources, services software and applications. The environment is tailored to the specific teaching/learning needs of each department.

The college has Internet facility with two leased lines and one broadband, one from BSNL with 250 Mbps, one from Pioneer e-Labs with 400 Mbps and ACT Fiber with 1Gbps Broadband, which is used by staff and students to access various online resources. The Internet can also be accessed through Wi-Fi at various locations(Canteen, Library, Seminar Halls, Conference Halls & QEEE Hall, Placement Cell, etc.) of College campus Full access is provided.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering

Established in 1981, the department offers a 4-year B.E. Degree Programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering, with an annual intake of 180 students and Honours Degree Programme in System on Chip Design. It also offers an M.E. Programme with specialization in Embedded Systems & VLSI Design. The department has experienced faculty members with expertise in various specializations like Signal Processing, Image processing, Circuit and Systems, Wireless Communication & Networking, Embedded Systems and IoT, VLSI system Design, RF & Microwave Engineering. Electronics Instrumentation. The department consists of good infrastructure and laboratory facilities with all the amenities. The Department maintains a robust association with the industry for student training, student projects, faculty visits, expert lectures, and for collaboration in research and development in emerging technologies. The Department also has been undertaking sponsored research and consultancy projects worth Rs. 325 lakhs from various industries like AICTE, DST, CAS DRDO, DRDL, HBL, ARDC, Lightspeed Photonics, Digi logic Systems. Osmania University accorded recognition to ECE department as a research centre to carryout research leading to the award of Ph.D. degree. The University also accorded recognition to 4 professors as Ph.D. supervisors to supervise Ph.D. scholars and currently about 19 Ph.D. scholars are working with them in the department. The Department has an IEEE student branch, IETE student Forum and IE(I) chapter to facilitate effective interaction with the industry and academia through seminars / symposia / workshops.
